WOMEN’S WELLNESS WEEKEND
NOVEMBER 8-10, 2024
CANYON LAKE, TX
A Weekend for ourselves
In November, the women of Mostly Well came together in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for a weekend about renewal, resilience, and connection.
Surrounded by nature, we built physical strength, fueled our bodies with nourishing food, and found calm through mindfulness, yoga, and healing reiki.
From invigorating hikes to moments of reflection, we embraced the chance to care for ourselves—filling our cups so we can continue pouring into the lives of those we love.
I’m so proud of each of these amazing women for showing up, challenging themselves, and embracing self-love in such powerful ways. Check out the highlights below. I hope to see you at our next retreat!
WELCOME MARKET
On Day 1, guests arrived to refreshing mocktails and welcome bags packed with wellness goodies, setting a warm and inviting start to the weekend. The Welcome Market offered a chance to browse Mostly Well merchandise, enjoy calming chair massages, and engage in mindfulness activities designed to help us unwind. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, creating the perfect space for connecting with one another and kicking off Strength + Serenity with energy and intention.
The strength training sessions were a dynamic and empowering part of the weekend, inviting women of all fitness levels to participate fully in each workout. With fun music themes and a range of modifications, every session offered a challenge tailored to each woman, whether a beginner or an advanced athlete. From lower-body power to upper-body and core work, these workouts were a joyful celebration of strength, energy, and resilience that left us feeling accomplished and inspired.

reiki & yoga
We found serenity in restorative yoga and healing reiki. On the first evening, Anna Gingrich from Anna Beth Yoga guided us through a calming yoga practice, perfect for winding down and connecting with ourselves. Her gentle guidance helped us release tension from the week and ease into a restful mindset. Reiki Master Katie Porras of Simple Prism Reiki offered individual reiki sessions, bringing a profound sense of peace and balance.
TRANQUILITY IN NATURE
Our scenic hike through Canyon Lake Gorge treated us to breathtaking views of limestone cliffs and clear waters, creating a peaceful yet invigorating experience. Afterward, we took a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub, letting the warmth soothe our muscles as we soaked in the beauty of the Hill Country. Evenings were spent gathered around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows under a sky full of stars, sharing stories and laughter.
healthy food
Among the weekend highlights were the meals catered by Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill, with attendees praising the delicious flavors. Breakfasts included hearty options like scrambled eggs, bacon, and roasted veggies, as well as lighter choices like yogurt with fruit and granola. Lunch featured vibrant charcuterie trays and fresh veggie options, while dinners brought everyone together over dishes like chicken tinga tacos and citrus-marinated shrimp.
Our health education sessions provided insights and tools for supporting our wellness journeys. In Building Resilience: The Power of Strength Training for Women, discussed the role strength training plays in preventing chronic diseases and combating age-related declines in muscle and bone mass. Next, in Setting Fitness Goals, we practiced setting SMART goals for health, learning effective strategies to track progress and stay accountable. Finally, we explored Mostly Well's services, including on-demand strength training videos and the upcoming Transform online course, which will help women work healthy habits into their busy routines.

MINDFUL CREATIViTY & CRAFTING
We enjoyed mindful coloring and crafting, allowing our minds to unwind and express creativity. One of our most popular sessions involved making our own spa and recovery treatments, where we crafted soothing honey-pumpkin face masks, refreshing sugar scrubs, and calming bath salts to relax and rejuvenate our tired muscles. These hands-on activities not only offered a break from the hustle but also gave us something special to take home and continue our wellness journey.
